My Approach
I believe you already have the tools, we just have to find them again.
My approach to our work together involves slowing down, looking at what you're experiencing and listening deeply to what is trying to come through. This involves applying a combination of mindfulness, spiritual, and evidence-based theories to give voice to your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Together, we create an environment of trust where laughter, tears, and release are welcome. Healing happens at your pace.
Our shared goal is your well-being.
I strive to create a space where all pieces of you are safe and welcome. This includes applying trauma-informed and culturally humble attitudes to honor all ways you walk the world: your faith, culture, neurodivergence, physical abilities, perspectives, worldviews and gender identity.
What to Expect in the Process
We start with a free 15 minute consultation where we discuss your concerns and needs for therapy. If we're a good fit, we will move on to scheduling an intake.
The intake process is a 60 minute initial session that gives an in-depth history to your background and goals for therapy. From there, we will schedule our meeting times.
In establishing priorities for your therapy sessions, we will create a collaborative healing framework for what you want to work on and how I can support you
(aka a treatment plan)
Our work together will be collaborative. Depending on your needs, I may assign homework, guide you through exercises, or make recommendations for supplemental resources.
At points throughout our work together, we will discuss discharge. Perhaps you've accomplished what you set out to work on or perhaps life pulls you in another direction. Whatever the case, we will work through a plan that honors the work you've done.
